Knowing the basic is one of the most important parts for any thing you want to do. And now we will be talking about Sketching/Drawing. First of all, drawing an outline of square box or rectangle box with six sides will be really helpful. And about Shading; when we talk about shading most people don't exactly get it and gave up easily. The reason is, they think shading is the most difficult part in sketching. That is because they don't know how light falls on an objects.
To let you know about shading, I am going to start with an 'Object' and 'Light'. Shading is nothing but only the indication of light and dark to an object. If you know about Umbra and Penumbra that is how Sketches work.
When giving shading to an object you are drawing, make sure you follow the above descriptions so that you come up with a new idea!
Basic Steps:
Step 1. Just draw the outline. If it is a box shape, make sure you draw them as a
3D (three dimension) object. Depending on the viewing angle.
Step 2. To make it looks reality, the object where light falls direct should be bright, no shading should be made. And the middle part of the object should be partially dark(little bit dark) and the object opposite to the light should be extra dark.
'Don't forget to remove the outline of the object which is in front of the light source'
Step 3. Shadow should be short if the light source is high and shadow should be long if the light source is low. When light flash from high, shadow...short, when light flash from low, shadow...long.
Step 4. Remember when light flash from lower then an objects, shadow is large,,,, and larger if light is closer to an objects. It means the size of the shadow depends on the light shouce.
